A bit about me…
My name is Ali. I began my yoga journey in 2001, when I was 15 – my high school incorporated the physical aspect of yoga into PE classes. I practiced yoga as a physical release for a few years, until I was encouraged to move deeper, into the ideas surrounding yoga philosophy. My spiritual beliefs align heavily with Buddhism, and I have a strong faith in the energy of the universe, and the more I learn about yoga philosophy, the more it just ‘feels right’. After going back and forth about whether or not it is what I want/need to do, I have now finally decided that the time has come to move inward and explore the heart of yoga.
I created this blog to document my journey as I work through my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Santosha Yoga and develop a deeper understanding of the yogic lifestyle. I’ve included all of my Blog Entries, Practice and Reflections, and Asana study, as well as Study Notes that I have created to deepen my understanding of concepts. For my teachers, I’ve also included my Module Comprehension Tasks and Assignments.
I’m hoping to teach yoga once I finish my teacher training – my special interests are prenatal and postnatal yoga, and yoga for children. I am also studying at university and completing a research project, and am due to graduate [with a Bachelor or Education (Honours) (Early Childhood)] in 2015. I’m also a mum and a wife.
If you’re interested in my journey, feel free to follow me :-)
