Books, Websites, Resources

This is just a FYI page – a list of references and includes links to books, magazines, articles and websites that have helped me gain a better understanding of yoga.

Websites

General Websites:

Yoga XTC: My favourite asana library!

Yoga Journal: My ‘go to’ website when I want to find information about asanas, anatomy and physiology, and core yoga concepts. Lots of free information.

My Yoga Online: I love this website, and use it daily as a reference. It offer videos, asana advice, articles, programs, music downloads and forums. They do charge for some videos and music, and there is a monthly/yearly membership option for people like myself who visit the site regularly want unlimited access, but there is plenty of free online content for people who prefer to browse casually.

Yoga DownloadWhile I was pregnant I used their online videos – it was good for me to get ideas about prenatal modifications, and now I use the website to get ideas about sequencing and flow of lessons. They also have ‘pose guides’ that are often free  to download as a PDF file. I love the option to stream or download video and audio – I can watch/listen and decide if it’s something I want to download to keep in my “virtual resource folder”. They also have some free music that you can download as MP3 files. Many of the .pdf, video and audio files are free, and the rest are cheap (if you like to pay for those kinds of things).

My Yoga Pinterest Board: I have a lot of teaching resources and Asana libraries on this board. Check it out!
